LORI GOLDSTEIN NAMED STYLE EDITOR AT W MAGAZINE
New York, June 16, 2011 - Today, W Magazine announced the appointment of Lori Goldstein to the newly created position of style editor at large, W.
Goldstein’s appointment is another key hire for Stefano Tonchi, editor in chief, W. Goldstein will join the magazine’s newly expanded fashion team including Alex Gonzalez, creative director, and Edward Enninful, fashion director. In this new role, Goldstein will work closely with W’s fashion team and with Lynn Hirschberg, editor at large, to ensure strong fashion elements are threaded throughout all aspects of the magazine.
Over the course of her 20-year career, Goldstein has become of the most influential and coveted stylists in the fashion industry today. Her work has been featured in top publications worldwide including W, Italian Vogue, Vanity Fair, Vogue Nippon, and V Magazine. She has also collaborated on high profile advertising campaigns for Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Jones NY, The Gap and Juicy Couture, to name a few.
In addition to her editorial and advertising work, Goldstein has also acted as a consultant to many top luxury designers: Vera Wang, Donatella Versace and Carolina Herrera. In 2008, she launched her own exclusive line for QVC: Logo Instant Chic. This signature collection allows her to bring her unmatched talent, vision and love of fashion to an even wider audience.
Goldstein’s experience is filled with iconic collaborations with notable photographers such as Annie Leibovitz, Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, Sølve Sundsbø, Mario Sorrenti and Inez and Vinoodh.
“I have an incredible amount of respect for Lori, and admire her imagination and impeccable taste. Even on a freelance basis, Lori has been an integral part of the new W. She has styled some of our best covers, including Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling, Mia Wasikowska, and January Jones. Given the recent expansion of W’s fashion team, I thought it was the perfect moment in time to formalize this relationship,” said Tonchi.
“W is the place where the most fashionable people in fashion, art, music, design and film come together to have fun and be inspired. To me, styling is not just about fashion. It’s a much more artistic and collaborative process. It’s about creating characters and a storyline through the lens of fashion, and W gives me the opportunity to do just that,” said Goldstein.
